What A Year. Thank You.
As the school year has come to a close with Pride month quickly approaching, we find ourselves reflecting on this past year–– a year of adjustment, loss, loneliness, isolation, learning, and change for many of us.
We want to extend a big congratulations to all those who graduated this semester and made it through, especially some of our beloved One TWU members !!!
Despite the circumstances, we were BEYOND happy to host multiple wonderful events throughout the year for the wider community including December’s “A Gift To My Younger Queer Self: An Alumni Stories Event” with seven of our amazing queer alumni, February’s “What is a Queer Theology? with Matthias Roberts,” and March’s event with Pádraig Ó Tuama on queerness, faith, and justice.
We debuted our beautiful, newly-updated website, kept up weekly (virtual) meetings for current students, and launched our very first Queer Faith Study pilot project this spring to great success !!
We have been SO thankful for the overwhelming turnout and interest with each new project and campaign we share.
To our fierce community of allies that cheer us on, attend our events, follow us, support our projects, re-share our content, and encourage us–– THANK YOU. We truly could not do this without your help.
We feel very loved.
To the queer ones we haven’t met yet, we hope you have felt seen in some way this past year through our social media pages, campaigns, and events.
In line with our mission to Educate, Advocate, and Relate, we sincerely hope that by putting ourselves out here publicly as leaders, that we might help to make TWU a safer, more inclusive, and welcoming environment.
Love & need you,
The One TWU exec team
