On December 3rd, 2020, seven of TWU’s queer alumni shared their authentic selves and their stories in our first ever virtual gathering.⭐️
It was an evening of joy, mourning, resilience, and empowerment.
The alumni speakers shared the gifts they would give to their younger queer selves and blessed us with their vulnerability. We laughed, cried, and rejoiced—we were so moved!!!! 🌈
The purpose of this event was to give space to listen to voices often marginalized and underrepresented, so as to bridge the gaps of understanding within the TWU community. 🖤
One TWU’s leadership team would like to give a huge THANK YOU to Robynne Healey, Matthew Wigmore, David Taylor, Lonnie Delisle and The Universal Gospel Choir, and everyone who shared their narratives for making this night possible including Sarah Isha, Harper Perrin, Theo Fletcher, Aline Bouwman, Tara Teng, Spencer Lee, and Kelsey Jeanne. 🏳️🌈
Thank you to the people who encouraged their friends to go, shared the event online, and a special thanks to the people who came to listen and support with loving hearts and minds. We are so grateful.🌹
This is not our last event!!! We are already planning for more exciting events in the new year.🌟We would love to hear your thoughts about how we can make our university a safe space for our LGBTQIA2S+ friends. Our dm’s are always open! 🖤
With lots of love and appreciation,
the One TWU exec team.
